A national level exhibition cum sale, NABARD Karigar Mela, Guwahati was organized by NABARD from 9th February - 16th February 2023. The exhibition was held to support and provide a marketing platform for the rural artisans and producers to exhibit their traditional art, crafts and various other products.

The exhibition was held at  Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari Road, Batahguli, Guwahati, Assam from 09:30am - 09:00pm

A total of 50 stalls were put up from various states across India including Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, BIhar, Haryana, West Bengal and Rajasthan. Another 30 stalls were installed at the exhibition from various districts of Assam to showcase the crafts of the State.

The Exhibition aims to provide the participants with exposure to urban consumers, market demands and customer preferences for improving their products. The exhibition each day was followed by Cultural Programme by Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee, Satriya Dance by renowned artist, Bihu and Bhortaal dance performance, fashion show and many more.

Angel Business Promoters of Mizoram, on behalf of Mizoram RO, also participated in the Mela. Two artisans under the project of OFPO viz. C. Lalremruata & F. Vanlalruati participated in the Mela and showcased the various products of Mizoram artisans.

The following wooden products, carved and polished by the artisans were sell in this mela:

  • Hnunghiahna (Back-scratcher)

To add the diversity of the products sold in the stall, some products  from the farmers covered under NABARD projects were displayed in the stall:

  • Gooseberry Candy (Hrangturzo FPC)

  • Sacha Inchi (Saitual District FPO)

  • Darzo (Darbilhi Tea Coop Society)

  • Khawmhma Candy
