Formation and Promotion of Kawnpui Poultry and Goatery based FPO at Kawnpui, Kolasib

 

This project established a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) at Kolasib District, with the clusters located at N. Kawnpui, in order to develop a sustainable value chain for production and marketing of poultry and goat farming.  The project aims to support and improve the livelihood of rural farmers who rear poultry and goats. The project will provide them with chicken and goat breeding equipment as well as training on modern technology. In addition, the BOD (Board of Director) and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) will be given proper training to ensure the sustainability of the FPO. In addition, market linkage for chicken and goat meat will be considered. FPO members can improve their activities in accordance with their previous activities. In meat processing, market demand cannot be met, this project will be able to solve the problem. The project is planning to make it different from the current way it is sold, the FPO will be able to sell their products in different ways..

The project was sanctioned in September 2023.
